Willing Servants
Willing Servants is a coalition of community members who have come together to serve as a safety net for horses and their owners. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and we depend solely on private donations for the work we do. All contributions are 100% tax deductible. We are grateful for any and all donations to help provide hay, homes, care, euthanasia assistance and education.

A Friend in need . . ..
Hello Willing Servants. We have a friend in need...not to mention, pain. Our neighbor, Leah Bellinghausen, was hooking up her horse trailer today and somehow managed to cut the ring finger of her left hand off in the process. YOUCH!!!!! and a few other not so nice words come to mind. (further details are unknown at this time) Leah is a hard working, single mom w/a 16 yr old son and 7 horses, who has recently lost her job as a dog groomer. She will be getting unemployment, but it hasn't come through as yet. I'm not 100% positive, but I think there is a strong possibility that she does not have health insurance. Dr's are not sure if the finger can be saved and reattached, but she'll be needing surgery either way. I'll make a trip to the community hay bank tonight, to help get her through this immediate rough patch. Unfortunetaly, we simply do not have the resources to maintain 7 horses indefinitely. So I'll also be talking with Leah ASAP about the possibility of rehoming a few to lighten her burden. (She's still in shock, as you might imagine.) Our little neighborhood is rallying to meet her immediate needs...care of her animals, meals and transportation. If you would like to be a part of Leah's support team, please get in touch. Asking someone to give up hay right now, is like asking for your most precious commodity, so I won't ask. BUT...if you can see your way clear to offer them a bale...or take a turn making a meal, I can tell you it will be greatly appreciated. I'll coordinate to pick up bales, and/or meals. After she's out of shock and surgery, I'll attempt to obtain her permission to post her phone # so you can make your own arrangements if you would prefer. In the mean time, prayers to save the finger and a speedy recovery is a wonderful gift I WILL ask you for. Thank You!

Once again we are blessed to live in such a wonderful community where neighbors take care of neighbors!!! Look what Lakeland Feeds is offering to support our friend, Leah Bellinghausen.
Hi Theresa! We would provide first cut grass small squares to your friend in need for $7.00 bale delivered. For every 10 bales others bought for Her, Lakeland will donate 1 bale. We also have 650# mini round bales, first cut grass. That would save about $30 ton if usable. We would again donate a bale for every 10 bales others bought for her. We would deliver freight free. I will let my crew in Hamilton know this might happen and help anyway we can! Thanks!
